During the 2023 -2024 school year, 150 students at Mena Public Schools received dyslexia intervention services.
154 students enrolled at Mena Public Schools have been identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2022-2023 school year Mena School District used the evidenced-based Winsor’s Sonday System and Take Flight programs in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2022-2023 school year, 119 students attending Mena Public School District received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.
Total Number of students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia during the 2022-2023 school year, 32 students attending Mena Public School District were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

Louise Durham Elementary:
18 students were assessed with Level II Dyslexia Screeners.
10 of the 18 students assessed with Level II screeners showed dyslexia indicators based on the 5-step Decision Model from the Arkansas Resource Guide provided by the Arkansas Department of Education.
19 students received dyslexia intervention services by trained interventionists using the Sonday System.
Holly Harshman Elementary:
10 students were assessed with Level II Dyslexia screeners
9 of the 10 students assessed with Level II screeners showed dyslexia indicators based on the 5-step Decision Model from the Arkansas Resource Guide provided by the Arkansas Department of Education.
56 total students received dyslexia intervention services by trained interventionists using the Sonday System.
Mena Middle School:
4 students were assessed with Level II screeners and showed dyslexia indicators based on the 5-step Decision Model from the Arkansas Resource Guide provided by the Arkansas Department of Education.
3 of the 4 students showed dyslexia indicators based on the 5-step Decision Model from the Arkansas Resource Guide provided by the Arkansas Department of Education
33 students have received dyslexia intervention services by trained interventionists using the Sonday System.

15 total students have been previously identified with indicators.
