MMS Announcements for Monday, April 22nd Today is the 155th day of school with only 23 school days remaining. The 6th grade ETS students will be meeting in the Choir Room after these announcements. The deadline to sign up for next month’s talent show has passed. However, all students who did sign up have until this Friday to turn in your signed permission slip and your song lyrics to Mrs. Lunsford. Upcoming Events: Today: Tonight is Senior night for our Soccer teams, as they host Arkadelphia. Lady Cats will begin at 5:00, followed by the Bearcats. Recognition of seniors will take place in-between games. Tomorrow: The Sr. High District Track Meet will be going on tomorrow at Bearcat Stadium beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the MMS Spring Choir Concert is tomorrow evening, 7:00 pm, at the MHS PAC. Wednesday: MHS Softball & Baseball will host Nashville at 4:30. Thursday: Spring Band Concerts will be held at the MHS PAC, featuring the Beginning Band, followed by the MMS Band, and then the MHS Band. The Beginning Band will start at 7:00. Friday: MHS Softball & Baseball will be hosting Arkadelphia at 4:30, and the MHS Senior High Choirs will have their Spring Concert at the MHS PAC at 7:00. Lunchtime Weather: Lunch Menu: Line 1 – Nachos, Tacos, Burrito Line 2 – Pizza, Sandwiches, Ham Chef Salad Concession – Bacon Cheeseburger, Steak Sandwich, Chicken Sandwich

MHS April 22nd, 2019 Soccer will play Arkadelphia here today. Softball and Baseball will play at DeQueen today. We will have the annual free physicals on Tuesday, May 14. All coaches will hand out the physical forms. Ladycats will be at 5:30 PM in the UBC and Bearcats will follow. This is the only opportunity to provide free physicals. Seniors, several students have not accepted their Arkansas Challenge scholarships. Check and see if you are pending acceptance. Seniors remember that all fines and lunch balances need to be paid May 10th. Seniors if you are interested in the Phillip Stanley scholarship for students interested in Forestry, AG science, Environmental Science, Earth Science or related field of study. See Mrs. Gross. BFI will have a volleyball tournament May 2nd. Contact BFI for more information. FBLA officer applications for the 2019-2020 school year are now available in Mrs. Lindsey's and Mrs. Torix's rooms for any FBLA member who would like to be an officer next year. They are due April 26. Students since it is turkey season make sure you do not bring any rifles to school in your vehicle. If a gun is found in your vehicle, it is required by law to look and it is a 365 day expulsion. All cap and gowns that have been ordered and not paid for are in the office. Herf Jones is accepting cash only or you can pay on-line. Mr. Breedlove will be taking orders for Senior Bricks. The cost is $20 per brick or $10 to share a brick with another person. Bricks must be paid for in advance. Students you must scan your ID cards at lunch. Do not get extras unless you have money in your account. Lunch: Burrito w/cheese, bacon cheeseburger, and steak sandwich Sci-Fi Club meeting in the Art Room this Wednesday during Enrichment. Sci-Fi Club officer Applications for next year are due this Wednesday the 24th by the end of school.

Mena Middle school ran it's first test of our new voice call system today... The message was regarding today's parent teacher conference... If you received this call and failed to answer you may have thought the school was calling in regard to your student or some type of emergency... This was not the case... Parent's can help eliminate any confusion by setting up your voice mail or by clearing out your voice mail messages if it is full... The plan is for this to become a new tool to notify parents about events that effect you and our students...
