
Mena MIddle School announcements for Monday, April 1st
Today is the 141st day of school with only 37 school days remaining.
Right after these announcements, 8th grade ETS students will be meeting in the Choir room.
From Mrs. Breedlove: Any 6th grader who signed up for next year’s 7th grade squad has a mandatory parent meeting this evening at 5:30 in the MMS Library. Also, the 7th grade and JH cheerleaders will be having a bake sale at Walmart this Saturday.
Upcoming Events:
Tomorrow: The MMS Band will be traveling to Greenwood for concert assessment.
Thursday: High School Girls & Boys soccer teams will be hosting Malvern at 5:00.
Friday: High School Girls & Boys softball & baseball teams will be hosting Hope at 4:30.
Students in Lunch “B” can start taking food items outside again. Throw your trash away!
Reminder: See Mrs. Lunsford to sign up for next month’s Talent Show.

New books out for a new week at the Louise Durham Elementary Library!!! Including new read aloud picture books that would be fantastic just to read aloud & there are some amazing new picture books that every child can make a connection, find themselves in, and create conversations.

All parents are encouraged to attend. Please arrive by 5:00 because schedules can sometime run ahead of time.
Dress Code- Formal Concert Black. Long sleeve, button down shirts and dress slacks (no black jeans, stretchy pants, or leggings). Girls dresses must be long sleeve and ankle length. Black dress shoes and black socks. No high heels. You will be walking a long distance.

There will be an FFA meeting Wednesday during enrichment for all FFA members who are participating in the State FFA career development events at Fayetteville. This meeting is required.
All FFA members who are participating in the state FFA career devlopement events at Fayetteville need to be at AG building at 8 am on Thursday. Bring your health release and waiver forms with you.


Mena High School Announcements - April 1st, 2019
Soccer will play at Hope today.
All students that have signed up to go to AYAA please come by the art room to pick up a copy of the Categories for the art competition. You will need to start filling out entry tags and dropping off artwork to be mounted and prepped for the show, which is April 10th.
Shelter Insurance scholarship applications are past due, but will be accepted if turned in today. Ms. Gross will take them for you if you have completed them.
Students when you get ice cream do not leave the cafeteria with it.
NEHS will meet in Ms. Krudwig's room this Thursday during Enrichment.
G/T needs to meet with the 9th and 10th graders Wednesday and 11th and 12 grade on Thursday.
All cap and gown that have been ordered and not paid for are in the office. Herf Jones is accepting cash only or you can pay on-line.
Prom dues are $30. Juniors pay $30 for both Junior and Senior year. If you did not attend prom last year, this year is $30.00. Mrs. Hendrix will be collecting prom dues through noon April 12. Prom will be April 13 from 8-11 at the Ouachita Center.

Juniors the deadline for the REA Youth tour is today.

Students that have signed up to attend AYAA that haven't paid their dues, need to go by the art room with their $15 today.
Mr. Breedlove will be taking orders for Senior Bricks. The cost is $20 per brick or $10 to share a brick with another person. Bricks must be paid for in advance.
The Special Olympics Area Games are Saturday, April 6. If you are planning to help-volunteer for this event, please see Mrs. Tompkins in room 214 and get signed up.
Students you must scan your ID cards at lunch. Do not get extras unless you have money in your account.

MHS Theatre students performed “Stud” at the Arkansas Young Playwrights Competition today in Little Rock. The play was written by Freshmen Avery Powell and Cadence Barnes.
Mena High School students were also part of Justin Richmond’s “South of Cortez: Montezuma County” play today at the Arkansas Young Playwrights Competition in Little Rock.





The Mena Jr. High track teams competed at the Mansfield Jr. Tiger Relays on Thursday. The Jr. Girls finished 2nd & the Jr. Boys finished 6th.
