I attended Rich Mountain Community College and earned my Associates Degree. While at RMCC I was the President of the Student Government and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. Also, while there I achieved many awards and was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to attend Henderson State University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education. Throughout my college years I remained on the Who's Who for Jr. Colleges and for Universities and graduated with honors. The reason I am sharing all of this is because I was just an average student while attending elementary school through High school. When given the opportunity to go to college I decided that I was going to do my very best and exceeded what I thought I could have ever achieved. I Have been teaching for 12 years, my first 3 years were in Wickes and the last 9 have been here at Holly Harshman. I taught 5th grade math and science during my first 2 years at Wickes and taught 5th and 6th grade science the third year. I have been the 5th grade science teacher since have been at Holly Harshman. I always thought that math was were my heart was but soon came to realize that my heart is really in teaching science.
