WE will be holding conferences via phone or video conference (Google Meet) this semester. Our Holly Harshman conferences have been re-scheduled for Monday, February 15th. As you may notice on our district calendar, this is a professional development day for teachers, so no students will be on campus. Governor Asa Hutchinson has proclaimed the week of February 1-5, 2021 as National School Counselor Week in Arkansas to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within the U.S. school system and how students are different as a result of what they do. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lee Smith took the lead by getting his Covid-19 Vaccination today. Dr. Smith will begin his new position as Superintendent of Mena Public Schools in the 2021/2022 school year.

UAMS is conducting a Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic for teachers & staff of Mena Public Schools today. Nurse Bobbi from Mena High School was the first to receive the vaccine.

Holly Harshman Elementary will kick off the Great Kindness Challenge Week by having Monday, January 25th as Kindness Unites Day. Staff and students are encouraged to wear blue to show one’s commitment to be a part of the GKC movement! Students will receive blue “Be Kind” bracelets. On Friday, January 29th, our students and staff will be encouraged to “Ride the Wave Of Kindness” by dressing in beach/surf attire. Students will receive “Be Kind” dog tags.
