Mena Public Schools will be having their 2nd Annual NO SALE YARD SALE on Friday, August 2nd from 10:00am-1:00pm in the Mena High School cafeteria. EVERYTHING IS FREE!
Mena School Staff just wrapped up three days of professional development at the Arkansas School Counseling Association Conference in Hot Springs.
Tonya Thacker, School Counselor at Holly Harshman Elementary and Avanlea Chaney, School Counselor at Louise Durham Elementary presented a carload full of pop tabs at the Arkansas School Counselor Association Conference this week. The tabs are donated to the Ronald McDonald House as a fundraiser. The Ronald McDonald House gets 40 to 50 cents per pound for the tabs. Mena was the top contributor at the conference this year. Thank you to the students, teachers and the community for working hard to help with this effort.
Day one of the Little Cats Basketball Camp in the Union Bank Center. The camp continues on Thursday and Friday.
Mena leaders are attending training with the DeQueen Mena Education Service Cooperative at Degray State Park this week. Administrators from schools across the DMESC area are attending.

Camp continues from 5:15pm-6:15pm on Thursday and Friday in the UBC. Everyone age 7-14 years old are invited. The cost is $10.00 per session.

The final night of the Little Ladycat Basketball Camp was Thursday in the Union Bank Center. There was a huge turnout of 1st-7th graders. GO LADYCATS!
The Polk County Farm Bureau Agricultural 4-H Student of the Month for March is Landri Bass.
Landri is the daughter of Benji and Kim Bass. She is a third grader at Holly Harshman Elementary (Mena). Landri is a member of the Mountain Valley 4-H Club and currently serves as the club treasurer. This year will be her fourth year to show chickens. Landri has won Polk County Fair PeeWee Champion Showmanship each year. She will be participating in the Fashion Review at the county O'Rama. She loves to volunteer with an 4-H event especially if it involves talking and is proud to live and serve in the Polk county community!
Presenting Landri her recognition plaque is Tony Hooper, Agency Manager. Polk County Farm Bureau is a proud supporter of Agricultural Education programs for all our local students! Also a big thank you to Atwoods Ranch & Home Goods for providing our students of the month with a donation of feed for their various livestock!
