Read Across America Week came to a close on Friday & Louise Durham Elementary celebrated their love of reading with dress up days, read alouds, book challenges & more.
Students were challenged to read 3,000 books this week & they crushed it by completing 6,306 books. The leading classes in each grade were Ms. Warren's class in 2nd grade, Ms. Todd's class in 1st grade & Ms. Sirkis' class in Kindergarten.
A student from each grade got to throw a pie in the face of Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Holder & Coach Rose.
It was a fun week! We fell in love with new characters, started new series, laughed and grew as readers.
We believe today a reader tomorrow a leader.
Kindergarten is having fun learning about force.
Congratulations to our Second Grade Battle of the Books team for representing Louise Durham so well. They brought home the big win!
