We had a great turnout today at Donuts for Dads! Thank you to all who came out and to our wonderful kitchen staff for the yummy donuts!
3 trophies in 2 days! All of out teams did great! The first grade teams came in 1st and 2nd. And our second grade team came home with 2nd place. Way to go Heroes!

Excitement is in the air at Louise Durham! Our December Book Swap is going on this week Monday-Thursday! Students may bring in up to 10 books in good condition and swap them for "new" books! A great way to get new books for Christmas Break! We love reading at Louise Durham!

Congratulations to Chloe Buck, Bryant Thomas, and Mariah Dilbert! Louise Durham participated in the Arkansas Ag in the classroom coloring contest. Chloe Buck won 3rd place at Louise Durham. Bryant Thomas came in 2nd place at Louise Durham and at County. Mariah Dilbert came in 1st place at Louise Durham, 1st place in the county ,and was the state winner.

Mena Public schools will be closed Wednesday, November 23rd through Friday, November 25th for the Thanksgiving Holiday. School will resume on Monday, November 28th. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!

Louise Durham Elementary had a Scholastic Book Fair during parent-teacher conferences in October. Student's names in each grade level were put in a drawing if their parents attended conferences. A student was drawn from each grade level and they won a big basket of books and supplies from this year's book fair! We are excited to share the love of reading with our book fair winners!!
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade will be attending a Pep Rally for Red Ribbon Week Friday, October 28th at Bearcat Stadium. We will load buses at 9:15 and will be returning around 11:00. Students will have a sack lunch that day and will be in alternate locations; because of the change we will not be able to accommodate any lunch visitors. We would like to welcome you to come to your child's party.
We have an eventful week coming up as Red Ribbon Week activities begin. Dress up days and other activities are listed below: Monday: Pajama Day Tuesday: Dress like your HERO day Wednesday: Patriotic Day- Wear red, white, and blue Thursday: Crazy sock and crazy hair day Friday:Dress to support your favorite team or as twins.
