The Arkansas Department of Education has announced the teams advancing to the ninth Annual All-State Coding Competition in April 2025.

The Mena High School team of Zachary Sweet, Dorian Knight, and Sponsor Krystal Titsworth are among those who advanced.

Twenty-five teams will receive an invitation to participate in the state competition, which will take place on Monday, April 21, 2025. The All-Region Coding Competition was a digital event that took place February 28, 2025. A total of 146 teams participated in the regional event and were scored by the ADE Office of Computer Science team using a common rubric and process. That process determined the top twenty-four teams to be invited to participate in the state level event. The school that produced the first-place team at the state-competition in 2024, Conway High School received an automatic invitation to send a team to the state competition.

Each member of the first-place team will receive a $2,000 award that will be deposited into a 529 College Savings Plan. Each member of the second-place team will receive a $1,000 award deposited into a 529 College Savings Plan, with each member of the third-place team receiving a $500 award deposited into a 529 College Savings Plan. In addition, the schools that register/sponsor the first, second and third place teams will receive $10,000.00, $6,000.00, and $4,000.00 (respectively) to support their computer science programs.

ADE extends congratulations to the advancing team members, sponsors, and schools.
