Welcome MELINDA DERAMUS to her new position teaching English 10 at Mena High School!
The Bearcat Band drumline and color guard began preparations for the marching season on Monday. One of their first tasks was to unpack, hang and model the new uniforms for 2024.
Mena Middle School and Mena High School teachers engage in collaborative learning at the AIMs teacher training, enhancing their skills for the upcoming school year.
Preparations continue for the 2024-2025 school year. Mena FFA Advisors Cheyenne Bell and Chase McCormick are learning new skills at the Arkansas Career and Technical Education Summer Conference in the Benton Event Center & Saline County Career Technical Campus.
The Bearcats were put through their paces on Randall Whorton Field on Monday. Mena will participate in a team camp at Lake Hamilton on Tuesday. Check the complete schedule for the 2024 season on our website at

The Ladycats were hard at work during practice on Monday in the Union Bank Center. The volleyball season begins on August 22nd with a benefit game against Van Buren in the UBC. The season opener is on August 26th when Mena plays Booneville in the UBC.
Jr. and Sr. teams from Cossatot, Dierks, and DeQueen participated in the Mena Basketball Team Camp in the Union Bank Center on Wednesday.
The Mena Jr. Bearcats will play their 2024 season opener on November 11th at Cossatot.

If you missed the Sr. cap and gown photo session the last two days at Mena High School go ahead mark your calendar for September 10th. That is the make up date for those who missed it.
Mena Public Schools will be having their 2nd Annual NO SALE YARD SALE on Friday, August 2nd from 10:00am-1:00pm in the Mena High School cafeteria. EVERYTHING IS FREE!
Mena School Staff just wrapped up three days of professional development at the Arkansas School Counseling Association Conference in Hot Springs.
Welcome Hunter Huffman to the staff at Mena High School and Mena Middle School ! Mr. Huffman is the new Jr. High Band Director.
Kensey Rosson, Jaxon Baber, Craig Bentley, and Kiylee Hughes represented Mena at the 2024 AHSCA All-Star Games!
District Maintenance Supervisor Danny Minton spoke at the Mena School Board meeting earlier this week about progress on the Hensley Activity Center. Minton said crews are about five weeks behind schedule due to weather. Petree Construction has three crews working six days a week on the project to get back on track.

The Jr Ladycats went 2-2 today at the Morrilton Team Camp with wins over Quitman and Mayflower. Losing two close ones to Beebe and Alma. The Jr Ladycats finished with a 12-4 record this summer. We are looking forward to the season. Now they get a much deserved break.
The Jr. Ladycats are participating in the Morrilton Team Camp. The team came away with wins against Lincoln, Rogers and Sheridan on Monday.
The girls are back at Morrilton Tuesday.
