
Progress continues on the Hensley Activity Center !


Congratulations to Mrs. Kristine Albin and the Mena High School Yearbook staff for earning the GOLD level of the National Yearbook Program of Excellence.


The Mena High School Pathway Club spent this past Saturday working towards beautifying our community by picking up roadway trash all around neighborhoods close to the high school. The Pathway Club was awarded a state grant that was written by our Behavioral Interventionist, Shanda Craig, and focuses on community service projects that beautify our community. These 9th grade students will work throughout their high school career on different ways to beautify our community. Students are also creating a video to highlight all the work and planning they have completed this school year. Club members are Waylon Yoakem, Adelhei Look, Avery Montgomery, Zoe Adams, Jonas Hernandez, Daeton Miller, and Braydon Wright.


The 2024 MHS Yearbook Assembly was held on Thursday morning in the Union Bank Center. This years yearbook was dedicated to the memory of Nature Brown and also to MHS Teacher Heather Catlett.

The Juniors defeated the Freshman in the Powder Buff Championship Match 2-1 on Wednesday at the Union Bank Center. This is the third year in a row the Junior team has won the event.
It was a fundraiser for the "Take What You Need Cart" at MHS.


Two Mena High School seniors attended the Arkansas Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day at the Governor’s Mansion on May 4th. They were hosted by Governor and First Gentleman Sanders.
Psalm Wistrand, daughter of Greg and Hope Brotherton, and Hudson Vacca, son of Johnny and Christi Vacca, were among Arkansas’ best and brightest seniors recognized at this annual, prestigious event.
Congratulations, Psalm and Hudson! The Mena School District is proud of your dedication to academic excellence.


Friday was Sr. Night as Mena soccer played their final game of the season at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. Seniors and their families were recognized in a ceremony prior to the games.

Addison Thomas and Rylie Bentley represented Mena High School on Friday at the state capitol. They participated in Senator Boozman’s congressional youth cabinet and spoke on ending the poverty cycle in Arkansas.

Jocelyn Hernandez signed her letter of intent to run cross country at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain on Friday in the Union Bank Center. Good Luck Jocelyn!!!

The Mena High School Lip Sync & Talent Show was held on Thursday for students.
The public performance is Friday night @ 7 pm - Bring your generous donations!

Thank you Teeter Motors for your donation to the Feed a Bearcat program at Mena Public Schools. This program is used for unpaid student meal charges.


Arkansas State University Admissions Counselor Gregory Hawkins was at Mena High School on Tuesday to present Brenden Ricker with a shirt and official acceptance letter. Congratulations Brenden!

April is National Poetry Month and we were honored to invite UARM softball player and author, Laney Leighanne, to talk to a group of high school students about how writing poetry helped her in her darkest time.


A group of Arkansas Computer Science Specialists were at Mena High School on Friday. They created a Capture the Flag event for Mrs. Titsworth's computer science students.

Mena High School Freshman earned community service hours on Wednesday morning cleaning up Hwy. 8 East and Eagle Gap.


The Mena Bearcats will be the 2 seed in next weeks Conference Baseball Tournament. Mena will play the winner of the Clarksville/Pottsville/Waldron game on Thursday at 6:30pm. Go Bearcats!


JoJo Hernandez, 9th grade track athlete, earned high point at 5 out of the 6 track meets we attended and placed first in 20+ events this year. JoJo will go on to compete with the senior high team at the Conference Meet on Friday.
