Mena tennis won eight of their nine matches on Tuesday against Acorn. Kili Cox, Madi Fowler, and Rylie Bentley won their singles matches while Reese Montgomery/Abi Comeaux and Paeyton Hostetler/Mollee Sharp prevailed in doubles. On the boys side, Levi Neufeld and Cooper Plunkett won in singles while the combo of Hunter Cannon/Levi Neufeld prevailed in doubles.

The Mena Jr. Bearcats battled DeQueen at Bob Carver bearcat Stadium on Thursday. Jr. JV Bearcats-6 DeQueen-0 Jr. Bearcats-16 DeQueen-12 Mena is back in action on September 5th when they host Cossatot.

Mena FFA members are showing livestock at the Polk County Fair this week. Sheep and swine judging is this evening and the premium sale is Friday night at the Polk County Fairgrounds.

The Mena High School yearbook staff was recognized today as a National Yearbook Program of Excellence. Congratulations!

The Mena Bearcats played a match at the Desoto Golf Course on Tuesday against Ft. Lake, Warren, Arkadelphia, Nashville, and Magnolia. The team finished fourth and will be back in action on Wednesday at the Eaglecrest Golf Club in Alma.

The Ladycat Volleyball season began on Thursday with a benefit game against Van Buren in Jim Rackley Gymnasium. The first regular season game is Monday in JRG.

The new cell phone lockers have arrived at Mena High School and Mena Middle School. Installation is expected to take several days. MHS Assistant Principal Celeste Ashcraft says, "Students are adjusting to the cell free zone. They are excited for learning, seem more alert, focused and more positive."

The Mena girls golf team won their first match of the season and the Mena boys golf team won their 4th match of the year at the Ozark Golf Club on Monday. Richie Davis and Chandler Dover were low medalist.

The Mena High School Back to School Boot Scoot was held this past Friday. The event was hosted by the MHS Student Council .

The Ladycat Volleyball team motto is Building for Success every day. Today's Ladycat, who showed energy, hard work, and being a good teammate, was Pascha Wistrand. Pascha gets the honor of wearing the hard hat for the day. She will write her favorite quote or words of encouragement on the hat.
