
JR. LADYCATS CLAIM 4A WEST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP!
The Jr. Ladycats defeated Arkadelphia 2-0 on Tuesday & claimed the conference championship. Mena will be the one seed in the district volleyball tournament at Bauxite on Saturday.

The Mena Ladycats defeated Arkadelphia on Tuesday at the Union Bank Center 3-0. The score was 25-17, 25-14 & 25-13. Mena Volleyball improves to 11-0 in conference & will play at Little Rock Mills on Thursday! GO LADYCATS !


The Mena Jr. & Sr. Ladycats played at Malvern on Monday.
The 7th grade won their match & the Jr. High won 2-0.
The Sr. High JV won 2-0 & the senior high won 3-0.
Mena Volleyball will host Arkadelphia on Tuesday at the Union Bank Center. Games begin at 4:00pm.


The Mena Jr. High Cheer Team is fired up about the first pep rally for 6th-9th grades coming up on Thursday, October 21st at Jim Rackley Gymnasium !

Bearcat Coaches select #22, Blake Brown, as the Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Week vs. Dover.
Blake and the Bearcats forced Dover into a mercy rule situation last Friday night and came out winning
by a final score of 40-14, handing the Pirates their 6th loss of the season. Mena now stands at 5-2.
Blake is a Senior this year and the son of Scott and Randi Brown. Blake had 2 TD receptions for 86
total yards on Offense, plus 5 tackles from his Cornerback position on Defense. He also scored the game
winning TD the prior week vs. Pottsville.
Blake also plays baseball and basketball for the Bearcats and is an avid bow hunter in the fall.
After graduation next Spring, Blake plans to attend UA Rich Mountain, then transfer to the UofA in
Fayetteville and major in Agriculture.
This week, Blake and the Bearcats travel to Ozark, to take on the Hillbillies, currently at 3-2 for the year.

Rachel Wilson created this miniature Eiffel Tower in the new Makerspace in the Mena High School Library. So amazing watching the students creativity come to life!


The Mena Ladycats beat Paris 3-0 back on September 20th at the Union Bank Center but could not get past them on Saturday. Paris gave Mena their second loss of the season in the championship game at the Paris Tournament.
The Mena JV won the silver bracket at the Paris Tournament on Saturday. The Ladycats beat the Mayflower varsity 2 to 0 in the finals. Go Ladycats!!!


Congratulations to the Mena Bearcat Marching Band on receiving 1st Division Band, 1st Division Drum Major, 1st Division Percussion, and 1st Division Color Guard at the Bulldog Invitational Marching Contest held Saturday in Waldron.
Next is the Region VIII Marching Assesment on Tuesday at Fort Smith Northside. GO BEARCATS !!!

Mena Jr. High Football played on Thursday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. The Bearcats defeated Dover by a score of 42-22 & improved their record to 5-2. The Junior Bearcats will host Ozark next Thursday. GO BEARCATS !!!!

But more than that, they are friends and counselors who help instill in their players important attitudes that will serve them all their lives."


Ladycat Volleyball picked up win number 17 on Tuesday at the Union Bank Center. Mena defeated Camden Fairview 3-0 by a score of 25-13, 25-1 & 25-7. The Ladycats are now 7-0 in conference play & will travel to Magnolia on Thursday. Games begin at 4:30pm... GO LADYCATS !!!

Mena Bearcat Coaches select #26, Jarrett Burger, as the Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Week vs. Pottsville. Jarrett is a Senior this year and plays Fullback and Linebacker for the Bearcats. His 8 tackles plus a 15 yard rushing TD helped lead the Bearcats to a 28-23 victory over the Apaches on Senior Night, at Randall Whorton Field.
Jarrett is the son of Jill and Chris Burger, and is a very avid bass fisherman and hunter. He and Mena QB, Austin Rose, compete as a team, in fishing tournaments all over the south, representing Mena High School. Jarrett hopes to go to college next year and be on a fishing team for a University.
This Friday, Jarrett and the Mena Bearcats take the 2 hour bus ride to over, to take on the winless Pirates, who are now 0-5.
Jarrett was not available for photo before press time, but will receive his week #6 game ball later this week.
