*The Ladycats would like to thank all everyone that came to the game last night. It was great to have the drumline there. The Ladycats will play tomorrow evening at Nashville at 6:00 p.m. in the District Championship game. Please make the trip to Nashville and cheer on the Ladycats as they try to win the District Tournament.

The HUB is taking applications for the 21-22 school year. If you are an upcoming senior graduating in 2022 and would like to apply for the HUB program, please fill out an application and return them to Mrs. Threlkeld in the HUB, Room 111. If you plan to work your senior year and would like to attend The HUB, please also fill out the AE JAG application form. Applications and HUB expectations were emailed to the Class of 2022 students on Tuesday. Please email Mrs. Threlkeld or stop by Room 111 with any other questions.

Mena Ladycat Basketball will play in the 7-4A Tournament Finals on Saturday at Nashville. Mena defeated Arkadelphia in the semi-finals by a score of 45-19. Nashville defeated DeQueen in the other semi-final game 65-35. Mena & Nashville split their two previous meetings this season. Tip-off was scheduled for 6:00pm.but has been changed to 3:30pm.
MHS Theatre III students are presenting "To Burn A Witch" this morning, in the Performing Arts Center, for classes reading "The Crucible".
The Mena Ladycats have advanced to the 7-4A Conference Tournament Finals with a 45-19 win over Arkadelphia at the Union Bank Center. Mena will play at Nashville on Saturday at 6:00pm.

The Mena Ladycats will be playing in the 4A South Regional Tournament in Star City next week. Here is the ticket information to the 4A South Regional Basketball Tournament. This event is a mobile entry event - tickets must be presented on a smart phone for entry. Printed tickets will not be accepted. Admission will be charged for ages 5 and up. The Mena Ladycats will host Arkadelphia in the semi-finals of the district tournament on Thursday. Arkadelphia defeated Ft. Lake 62-45 on Tuesday to advance. The game will be played at the Union Bank Center with tip-off set for 6:00pm. Vouchers for tickets are normally given on the day of the game at the administration building but tickets for this game will be sold at the door & no vouchers will be needed.
A crew from UAMS is administering round two of the covid vaccine to MPS employees today. Quarantine numbers continue to fall in the district mirroring the national trend.
Coach Hughes has postponed the Cheer meeting scheduled for tomorrow until next Wednesday 3/3 during enrichment. Email Coach Hughes with any questions at andrea.hughes@menaschools.org .

There will be a MANDATORY meeting in Coach Hughes’ Room 315 for all candidates who signed up to tryout for the 2021-2022 Cheer Program. If you do not show up you are disqualified from being eligible for tryouts. Email Coach Hughes with any questions or discrepancies.

Interested in visiting another country or maybe four? Ms. Catlett has partnered with EF tours to offer an international trip to interested MHS students and faculty. For any juniors, seniors, or interested faculty please go to the PAC after these announcements to find out where we're going and how you can go.
Freshmen & Sophomores will have their interest meeting on Wednesday in the PAC during enrichment following the announcements.

On Friday 2/19 the Arkansas Activities Association made a decision to move the Regional and State Basketball Tournaments back one week. This will allow the 7-4A District Tournament to be completed this week. The Mena Ladycats will play at 6:00pm on Thursday 2/25 against the winner of the Arkadelphia/Fountain Lake game at the Union Bank Center.

The Arkansas Activities Association will be moving the Regional Basketball Tournaments, the State Basketball Tournaments, and the State Basketball Finals back one week to allow conferences to finish their regular seasons and tournaments. Due to the amount of COVID-19 cancellations during the regular season, a conference tournament may be needed for correct seeding into the regional and state tournaments. Schools and conferences will need to check the updated deadlines for submitting their final seeds to the AAA. The AAA is committed to finding the most equitable solution when dealing with COVID-19 related no-contest and with unprecedented weather conditions that prevent the timely completion of the season.
