The Mena Jr. Boys came up just short of defending their title at the Bear State Bank in Waldron. Seeded number one, the Jr. Bearcats started the tournament with a sound 44-28 victory over Cossatot River Jr. Eagles to propel them into the finals against the host team. After a slow start, the Jr. Bearcats clawed their way back to within 5 points (30-35) at the start of the 4th quarter. Waldron's 3 point shooting proved the difference and the Jr. Bearcats fell 34-54 which left them with the Runner-up trophy.
The Jr. Bearcats (3-2) will next be in action in Hot Springs against Lakeside on Monday, November 28th.
