Thursday, January 20th
Welcome back. Here are a few reminders about our current situation:
> Make sure and get all of your AMI work completed asap. We must report our completion rate to the Arkansas Department of Education and if the assignments were not completed, we will have to add our two AMI days to the end of the year.
> Please stay home if you are not feeling well.
> Use common sense - keep your hands washed or sanitized, do not share food, drinks, or other items, be conscious of how close you choose to get near others. You are encouraged to wear a mask. If you need a mask, come to the front office.
> Bring your water bottle or a container with a lid so that you can use the bottle-filling stations.
The cold weather has returned. Dress appropriately. Check the Lost-&-Found for coats and jackets.
The Library is closed until further notice.
If you are a FFA member that wants to join the FFA Trap Shooting Team please return your forms to Mr. McCormick before January 31st.
There is a sign-up sheet in the office for any current 7th or 8th grader that is interested in trying out for next year’s Jr. High cheer squad. You will need to put your name, what grade you will be in next year, and your current Achieve teacher. Do not come during class - do this in between classes or at lunch.
The 5th & 6th grade Quiz Bowl tournament scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed until the end of March.
Lunch Menu:
Main Line - BBQ Chicken
Pizza Line - Pizza, Deli Sandwich
Concession - Bacon Cheeseburger, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Tenders
Lunchtime Weather: We will likely be inside today during both lunches.

Mena Public Schools will resume classes tomorrow. When we return, please continue to take the precautions we've become accustomed to during COVID to reduce the spread and be prepared to modify and adjust as needed.
Please keep an eye on the situation on our website for COVID Impact: https://www.menaschools.org/page/mps-daily-covid-impact
We pray for continued recovery of those who are still sick from this or other bugs that are floating around.

The dental sealants program for Mena Middle Schools 6th graders is scheduled for February 24, 2022 at 9am. Forms will be sent home with sixth grade students beginning Thursday of this week. The forms must be completely filled out and signed. The deadline for forms to be returned is January 27, 2022. The students who participate will be transported by bus to Healthy Connections, LLC and returned to the middle school when finished. If you have any questions please call the dental office at Healthy Connections, LLC
