I. Reminders:
Cheer sign-up continues for current 7 th & 8 th graders – see Mrs. Breedlove.
Youth league sports sign-up forms are available in the main entrance, along with
yearbook order forms.
February 1 st is the deadline to order a personalized yearbook.
II. From Mrs. Rose: Next week we will celebrate the Great Kindness Challenge. Challenge
sheets will be handed out on Monday. Look for updates on the Challenge on Mrs. Rose's
Google Classroom. You can download the Great Kindness Challenge free from the App
Store.
III. Attention 8 th Grade Students: Next Tuesday, January 26 th , 8 th grade students will take a tour
of MHS. This will be done during your History class period. Go to Mr. Johnson’s class as
usual, then you will be taken to the high school from there. Please make every effort to
come to school that day.

Thursday, January 21 st
I. Reminders:
Cheer sign-up continues for current 7 th & 8 th graders – see Mrs. Breedlove.

February 1 st is the deadline to order a personalized yearbook.
II. This is a reminder that we are not currently doing Flex Friday. Tomorrow, along with all
Fridays, is a regular school day until further notice.
III. If you stay home because you don’t feel well, you are not allowed to come to school just for
athletics, band, cheer, etc.
IV. 7 th & 8 th grade students: Please remember that at the end of your lunch period, ignore the
first bell you hear. That bell is for 6 th grade class change. The bell that ends your lunch
period rings 2 minutes later. Please do not enter the building on the first bell. This
schedule was set up this year for social distancing by limiting the number of students in the
hallways at once.
V. Lunchtime Weather: A decision will be made at lunchtime whether or not we will go
outside, based on the amount of standing water.

BASKETBALL SCHEDULE CHANGES!
On Thursday 1/21/21 games start at 4:30pm beginning with the 7th Grade Ladycats, followed by the Jr. High Ladycats, the 7th Grade Bearcats & the Jr. High Bearcats in the UBC.
On Friday 1/22/21 the Sr. Girls & Sr. Boys will be in action beginning at 6:00pm in Fountain Lake...

Wednesday, January 20 th
I. Reminders:
7 th & 8 th graders see Mrs. Breedlove to sign up for Cheerleader.
6 th graders interested in Cheer will sign up next month.
Check the Lost & Found box for your missing coats and jackets.
II. Do not use your school-owned Chromebook to play unauthorized games. If you are
playing one of these games, it will be blocked from the school server.
III. If you are interested in participating in the Mena Youth League Soccer, Baseball, or
Softball, there are sign-up forms on a table in the main hallway near the entrance to the
office. These are not school-sponsored teams, so please follow the instructions on the
forms and do not return them to the school.
IV. The last date to order a personalized yearbook is February 1 st . Forms are available in the
Office, school website, and the MMS Facebook page.

I. Several of you are repeatedly having to be told to either pull up your mask or to put your
mask on. You must wear your mask in order to attend school.
II. Reminders:
Quiz Bowl practices will resume in February.
Charge your Chromebooks at home during the evening.
III. From Mrs. Breedlove: Signups for the 2021-2022 Cheerleading programs have started. If
you wish to try out for the Jr high cheerleading squad, or competition team (current 8th-11th
graders only) please stop by Mrs. Breedlove’s room (7A) and put your name on the list.
This is for current 7th and 8th graders.

IV. The Lost & Found box is full. If you are missing a coat or jacket, please take a look.
Everything in the box will soon be bagged up and donated to PCDC.

Mena Middle School Project Prevent members met with the BADD team on Friday to discuss the hazards of nicotine. Members also put prevention posters throughout campus.
