
Mena Middle School students involved in "Project Lead the Way" displayed and explained their current projects to those in attendance at the Mena School Board meeting on Monday.
PLTW provides access to real world, applied learning experiences that empower students to gain the skills they need to thrive in college, career and beyond in the areas of computer science, engineering and biomedical science.


70 Mena Middle School and Mena High School FCCLA student leaders participated in a district wide service project on Wednesday. The service project called Cakes For Casa benefited Polk County Casa by providing birthday cake kits for children in foster care served by Casa. Mena earned the Service Award for the event for the most items donated! In addition Mena High School FCCLA officers gifted Ms. Mindy Lyle a $25 gift card to purchase classroom supplies as thanks for organizing todays community service event! A huge thank you to the Union Bank of Mena for providing lunch and to Mena Mayor Seth Smith for stopping by to check out what our amazing area leaders were up to today!


Mena Middle School FCCLA students visited Ms. Whites third grade class on Wednesday to teach them sign language and to prepare for their upcoming FCCLA Star events.


Private School Partnership Meeting - November 16, 2023
There will be a meeting on November 16, 2023 for the Homeschool Officials within the Mena School District at 6:00 p.m. in the Mena High School Cafeteria, Mena, Arkansas. This meeting will be held to provide information about special education services to private schools and homeschool providers. Please contact Christy Thrailkill, Special Education/504 Supervisor for the Mena Public Schools, if you have any questions regarding this meeting.

Project Lead The Way, Design and Modeling students took a field trip to Brodix Wednesday. Students had the opportunity to see how all the skills they have been learning are applied in real world local careers! Project Lead The Way is a set of courses that are new to Mena Middle School this year! Offering four courses in total. The other courses offered are Automation & Robotics, Flight & Space, and Medical Detectives. A huge thank you to Brodix for hosting us and giving an informative and interesting tour!

Mrs. Breedlove took a group of MHS students to Mena Middle School to deliver cards and candy to their teachers. Today happens to be World Teacher's day.


Huge Thank you to Farm Bureau and Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry for their generation donation of 420 beef sticks toward the backpack program!


A shadow box competition was held in Ms. Martin's 7th grade history classes recently. Students created a shadow box representing one of the Native American tribes they have researched and covered in class. One winner from each class was chosen by a panel of judges.

The Jr. Ladycats played Magnolia on Thursday at the Union Bank Center. Mena lost 25-6/24-26/7-15. The Ladycats return to action on Saturday at the Rover Valley Tournament.
