70 Mena Middle School and Mena High School FCCLA student leaders participated in a district wide service project on Wednesday. The service project called Cakes For Casa benefited Polk County Casa by providing birthday cake kits for children in foster care served by Casa. Mena earned the Service Award for the event for the most items donated! In addition Mena High School FCCLA officers gifted Ms. Mindy Lyle a $25 gift card to purchase classroom supplies as thanks for organizing todays community service event! A huge thank you to the Union Bank of Mena for providing lunch and to Mena Mayor Seth Smith for stopping by to check out what our amazing area leaders were up to today!


Private School Partnership Meeting - November 16, 2023
There will be a meeting on November 16, 2023 for the Homeschool Officials within the Mena School District at 6:00 p.m. in the Mena High School Cafeteria, Mena, Arkansas. This meeting will be held to provide information about special education services to private schools and homeschool providers. Please contact Christy Thrailkill, Special Education/504 Supervisor for the Mena Public Schools, if you have any questions regarding this meeting.

Mena High School students were able to sign up and attend a community service event at Mena Fire Station #1 to earn community service hours to go toward graduation requirements.

Mena's season game to an end in the 4A State Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday with a 0-3 loss to Gravette.

The 2023 Mena High School Homecoming Queen was crowned on Friday night at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium.
The Maid of Honor was Holiday Neufeld and the Queen is Sophia Vacca.
Holiday Neufeld is the daughter of Jeff and Jerusha Neufeld. Holiday is in NHS, the treasurer of NEHS and has earned her academic letter and second academic bar. Holiday is the elected President of the Spotlight Singers, a vocalist in Jazz Band, and has been chosen as the lead female role in this year's school musical, Newsies. She has also had the privilege of representing Mena High School as a four time All Region Choir member and a 2023 All-State Choir member. Holiday has also competed and won the Mena High School talent show two years in a row. After high school, Holiday plans to attend college and major in music education while continuing to sing in choir at the college level.
Sophia Vacca is the daughter of Scott and Ashley Vacca. Sophia is President of NEHS, President of NHS, Co-Editor of the Yearbook Staff, and the elected Vice President of Student Council. She has received her academic letter and second academic bar. Sophia is on the Varsity Sideline and Competition Cheer Team and Varsity soccer team. She received an All-State nomination in Soccer last year. Sophia is a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and serves on the Catholic Youth Advisory Council. After high school, she plans to attend the University of Dallas and major in Psychology.


Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivered the game ball on Friday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium and the Bearcats ran with it.

Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Mr. Wes Ward toured the Duckett Outdoor Classroom and Natural Resources Lab on Friday. Ward was in town for the governors "Capitol for a Day" program.
